How My Kid Gets Her Easter Eggs Opened

Julia decided that the best way to open her eggs was with her teeth which then would cause it's contents to fly out all over the place. I am still finding jelly beans on my floor. Notice too that she no longer has her Easter dress on since she wiped her lunch on it and she even has chocolate on the shirt she is wearing. Let's just say this was outfit #3 of the day :)

Is anyone else having trouble with Blogger this week??

Question

How is it that I can spend $150 at the grocery store and only walk away with 5 bags? I did buy some meat and some hair care products, but I don't think enough to cost that much money. And then my car was $49 in gas today! I remember when I was 16 and I had a little red Mazda. It took $5.00 exactly to fill my tank and that got me through the whole week! We always say we don't know where our money goes and today I found out :)

Is that all I can post about today?? Man I need to get a life. Thanks for reading even though it has not been too good lately. My kid is even being good so I got nothing there. I am sure I will think of something :)

Monday

What is up with Blogger today? This is the first time I have been able to get in. Oh well I guess I can not complain about a free service :)

Today has been very uneventful that is why there is no real post here. There are only 4 days left till my birthday and I am having a party on Saturday to celebrate. Just me and my 10 girlfriends. I am so excited! This party has been in the works for a while and hopefully it will come with no drama. It actually prompted 10 moms to go out and buy new sexed up outfits so it can't be too bad. I figured this will be my last crazy thing for a while since we are trying for another child (yep you heard it first!) And it has been a LONG time since something was just about me :)

Well I hope you all had a great Easter and Monday! Thanks for reading!

Happy Easter!

Dear Easter Bunny,

You know that bag of Peanut Butter M&M's you picked up from Target last week? Well my husband found them tonight and put them in a bowl on the kitchen counter. It wouldn't have been a big deal, but those are my all time favorite and I am on a diet. Now they stare at me in all their pastel goodness and each one is shouting "Over here Amanda. You know you want me." So I was thinking next year you could buy sugar free candy or maybe even some fruit so that I may be able to partake in your holiday.

Thank you very much. My family is looking forward to your visit tomorrow.

Love,
Amanda

It was in My Car!!!

I got into my car today after a nice stroll of the mall BY MYSELF (can life get any better than that??) and I heard this buzzing noise. I look over and there was a bee on my arm. You would have thought that there was a fire in my pants because I screamed and freaked out!! Luckily the car was not in motion or I would have gone off the side of the road. I managed to move since bees or any type of bugs scare me (I am a puss what can I say?) and let him out the window. It still gives me the creeps and I have to check every so often that it is gone. Yuck! I am the girl who cried bee :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Thanks for reading!

Clean Slate

No matter how my child acts the day before, she always wakes up with a clean slate in my mind. Yesterday was so much better and today is looking nice too. I am blaming her behavior the other day on planet alignment and mother nature (sounds good right??) I also noticed that through it all, I see still manage to see glimpses of my beautiful child so I know she is still there. So order is restored in our house and the Easter Bunny was called back to let him know it is okay to drop by on Sunday.

So that is me today. The oh so exciting life I lead. I might have another post here today, but I wanted to let you know that I am okay. You guys rock!

Yesterday

Yesterday was just plain shitty (yes I am going to use that word) It was one of those days that you wanted to curl up into a ball and forget it ever happened. And guess why it was bad?? My sweet adorable child is why. I just don't know what is wrong lately, but it seems like aliens have replaced my child with a little devil. We had playgroup at someone's house yesterday because it was raining. For the 1 1/2 hours we were there Julia tore down the netting that goes over her friend's bed, broke a baby highchair by trying to sit in it, and messed up this little girl's room. I was so embarrassed because it seemed like every 5 minutes I was getting up to tell her not to do something. So when we came home I made her go to her room and she fell asleep. I thought order would be restored after that, but 45 min later when she woke up (I hate short naps) she was at it again. Throwing tantrums, screaming, throwing stuff. I actually cried!! I hate doing that because then I am declaring defeat, but it was all I could do. After a couple hours she was better, but by that time I was done! You know I thought 2's were kinda bad, but nothing compared to this. I want my child back!

Sorry for the long winded whiner post. Today has started off a lot better and so I am hoping for a good day.

Where are my Damn Keys??

When is it okay to get in your car and drive away?? Or can I have Supernanny come in and help?? Ugh! I love my kid to death, but she will be the death of ME one of these days!!

Thought I would vent a little.

-Amanda

Yep That is My Kid

Yesterday afternoon, Jon and I took Julia to the local library to get her passport. We are going to Mexico this summer and it is just easier if she has one. Anyway, I have only taken Julia to the library once (yes I know bad mom) when she was little and she just didn't get it. So when we went yesterday we had to tell her that she had to whisper and there was no running wild through out the place. I took her to the children's section so that she could pick out some books while Jon waited for them to call our name for her passport. We found books and I left Julia with Jon while I went to check them out. I am standing in line and I hear Julia scream "Mommy I farted!" at the top of her lungs. So I pretend to look around wondering who this child's mommy is, yet I am sure everyone knew that it was me. I take full responsibility for teaching my child to announce when she has gas. It is funny though, I tell her how to spell her name, how to count on her hands, and yet she remembers the bad stuff. Maybe I should teach how to count her toots so she will learn that way??

You Know When

You know when it is Spring Break on MTV (which is just filled with a bunch of crap) when you and your husband are flipping through the channels and he says "Wait go back. There were boobies on that channel." That's my guy :)

If I was a Stripper

I was in the car alone yesterday (a rare occasion in my life) and I actually got to listen to my music in the car. Usually I have to either listen to the DVD player play "Strawberry Shortcake" or the CD player play some damn Barbie CD. So lets just say I was stoked I got to listen to "adult" music. Anyway, my ipod was on shuffle mode and it came upon Fiona Apple's "Shadowboxer" and I thought to myself if I was a stripper this would be a song that I would use. So I decided to write the 5 songs I would use if I were a stripper. I also ask you to do the same- don't be shy- I know someone of you out there have thought about this too :)

  1. Shadowboxer- Fiona Apple
  2. I Feel You- Depeche Mode
  3. Blue Dress- Depeche Mode
  4. Too Funky- George Michael
  5. If- Janet Jackson

How about that for a Saturday morning?? Thanks for reading!

Bullets

I thought I would use those little bullet things for some of my random thoughts and observations. I guess that is a way of telling you that I really have nothing exciting to post today.

  • I am LOVING Chai tea lattes from Starbucks. My MIL turned me on to them and now I want one everyday.
  • Why is that Starbucks in my Vons Supermarket that I shop at, in the same shopping center, and in the Albertson's across the street??
  • Robert Blake is not guilty? That is a big shocker to me
  • I am not wearing green today since I forgot
  • My friend Robin just got a Honda Odyssey mini van and I have never been a mini van lover, but it is too cool. The seats are heated for god sakes!
  • Getting my hair colored on Sunday and let me tell you I need it!!!
  • I am a total sucker for new items at the grocery store. I want to try Coke w/ lime- anyone try it yet? Was it good?
  • I want to go to In-n-Out, but then I would be in big trouble with the diet police.
  • Hey don't you think I could make big bucks actually being the diet police? I could follow you around and make sure that you don't drive to Krispy Kremes after your workout.
  • Alright I am done with these bullets :)

I'm Back!

Well I just got back from my little trip of the California coast. It was so gorgeous! If you have never been it is worth the trip :) Anyway, we went to Monterey and saw the shark. Unfortunately, there was no flash photography allowed- damn fish. The shark was cool though and something I am sure that I will never get the chance to again unless I am swimming with one- ouch!! Anyway, it was a good trip and I am glad to be home.

I also wanted to give a another shout out to single parents. I was only gone 3 days and I am so done! Never getting a break and missing that extra pair of hands around was no fun. Thank god the hubby is on his way home right now. I think there is a bubble bath in my future.

I will write a better post tomorrow. I still have to unpack (secretly I am sure I will leave the suitcase full for about a week or so) I hope everyone is having a good week so far. Thanks for reading!

PS- I want to say Congrats to Jenny on her new baby girl Lucy. How cute is that name??

Like a Big Girl

Tomorrow morning I will be driving 4.5 hours to by best friends Summer's house in Los Osos, CA. Julia will be with me and this is the first time I have ever driven a long time by myself. Imagine that at almost 29 years old?? I am a little nervous- more about if Julia can maintain in the car for that long. I don't plan to stop unless it is a dire emergency. Thank god for portable DVD players! I will be back on Wednesday and hope you guys will miss me just a little :)

Wish me luck and I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and beginning of the week. Thanks for reading!

-Amanda

PS- We will be going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium to check out the first Great White Shark in captivity. If I can take pictures I will and show you. Such dork that I think a shark is cool :)

Nothing to Wear

As I looked in my closet this morning it struck me that I wear the same type of outfit everyday. It usually consists of a pair of jeans, or jean capris, and a V neck t-shirt. I think I will have to buy stock in V neck t-shirts since I own one in every color. Since being on my diet, I have lost about 25 lbs. and I have a new found wardrobe of clothes in my closet, yet they still consist of the same type of outfit. When I was skinny and kid less I would wear cute clothes, why can't I do that now? I guess I have officially become a mommy and now I wear my mommy gear. I am going to start a a company called Mommy Gear that just sells jeans and V-neck t-shirts. They will be stain resistant and come with hidden pockets for binkys, juice boxes, and Kleenex. What do you think?? What is your mommy gear? Do you find yourself wear the same old stuff every day??

Houses and Toddlers- What a Post!

Well yesterday after many phone calls filled with "what ifs" we decided to back out on the house we bought. It came down to do we like having money or do we want to live in a big house with no money. We had stars in our eyes that day when we bought the house and then reality struck. And to tell you the truth I feel like a weight has been lifted. I had knots in my stomach the last couple of days and my head has been full of doubts. It is funny, but Jon was going through the same thing, yet we didn't tell each other because we were afraid to let the house go. But now it is all good and we will focus on the improvements we wanted to make to the house we live in. To which I am very excited :)

In other news, my eBay auction for my child will be starting soon. Please tell me that things get a little better when she turns 3. It is like she has developed this little sassy attitude and she will not listen at all. I dread taking her places because half the time I will chasing after her or telling her over and over again not to touch something. I am trying to be a good mommy on this one and just be patient and clam, but sometimes I am ready to get in the car and drive away. Maybe this she is just getting the last of the 2's out and she will be my sweet little girl once again. Keeping my fingers crossed :)

Well that is my post for the day. Thanks for reading!

Crushed

So I am going to admit on my blog right now that I have a small obsession with two TV shows. Now these are TV shows from the past and they have recently been airing reruns on the SOAP Network. I TiVo them everyday and watch them when my kid takes a nap (me time) The first show is "Melrose Place". I watched all 10 seasons of that show when it first aired and now I am watching them all over again. I love the short skirts and the 90's music they play. I just wish Heather Locklear would pull a brush through her hair once and a while- such a rat's nest. The other show is "Beverly Hills 90210". Now I totally watched that show till it died. I had a wall in my bedroom that I took every picture I could find of the cast and taped it up there. It was totally covered till my mom said it looked tacky, then it was half covered. I was a "90210" freak! So yes I was a dork in case you were wondering :)

Among the pictures on the wall was a poster of Luke Perry. God he was so hot!!! I had a huge crush on him. Now that I am rewatching the episodes I realized that I still had a crush on him! Yes another reason why I am a dork. So I was wondering since I admitted my crush and TINY obsession with Luke Perry- who did you or who do you still have a crush on?

So Fast

We bought a house yesterday. Yes, we bought a house yesterday. I thought we were going to go look at the new houses in the area, but we ended up buying one. How long did it take?? 30 minutes. I am still sitting here wondering what actually happened. It happened so fast. Now I have buttloads of work to do. Selling our house is the main thing. Oh God- I have to sell my house!! Can I throw up now?? We have 5 months to sell it and I know here in California it will not be too hard. I just have to keep the house clean at all times. Can I throw up now??? Okay well that is how my weekend went. I am excited, yet scared and stressed at the same time. Can I throw up now??

Music- Not just a Madonna Song

This music stick was passed on to me by Miss. IrishBreen:

1. What is the total amount of music files on your computer?
My Itunes has 135 songs on since I accidentally erased them last month. Slick move I say :)

2. The CD you last bought?
I think I bought Usher and my Hubby bought me Gwen Stefani

3. What was the last song you listened to before reading this message?
Does "Toot Toot Chug Chug Big Red Car" by The Wiggles count???

4. Write down five songs that you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
"Wonderwall" by Oasis- reminds me of times past
"Breath of Life" by Erasure- My favorite of all time
"Into the Groove" by Madonna- Another all time favorite and first record
"A Little Heaven" by Toad the Wet Sprocket- another song of times past
"Rock Your Body" by Justin Timerlake- It makes me want to dance around the house and I think he is super hot :)

5. Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
Christine- because I know she likes her music and they bring back times past
Gabby- Because she is my sister in law and she is obligated.
Tuesday- because she is cool :)

Dang!!

My brother emailed me this link today. It has sound bites from Napoleon Dynamite. So funny! There are other sound boards too to check out. My favorite is the one from Fat Bastard in Austin Powers. Enjoy!!

Have a great weekend!

All Good

See that post down there, well I am better now and back to being my chipper (as Chuck called it) self. Julia ended up going to bed a little earlier than usual so I was relaxed when the hubby came home. So all is good here. No complants today besides my hair and the rain. And it is Friday so that makes it even better!

Thanks for reading and putting up with me :)

Warning

Warning Mommy Rant Coming.....

So today Jon has to work late. I am fine with that since he is doing his job. The problem is, Julia has decided not to take a nap. And now this where I fall apart (see that is me in pieces on the floor) She must know that today is the day I will be with her all day so she decides that she wants to make our time together miserable. Sorry if that is a harsh word, but when she is crabby I am too, thus making the afternoon miserable. And you want to know the best part?? I called the hubby to discuss my dilemma for moral support and he says "Honey, I am working right now and can not talk." In any other situation that response would have been fine, but not today. Remind me to add him to the top of my shit list later.

Alright that is my rant. Typing that actually made me feel a little better. I just need to figure out how to make the best of it. Anyone up for jello shooters??

Another One Down the Drain

I just read that Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen are getting a divorce. She is like 6 months pregnant! I bet he called his old pal Heidi Fleiss and got a hook up somewhere. Hard to make a "bad boy" good.

-Amanda

PS Sorry I am full of useless Hollywood information. Reading too much "US Weekly"

My Kid Rocks!

It has been over a month now since we started our potty training adventure (some adventure) and I am proud to say that it worked! My kid is officially potty trained! And guess what? I really did not do anything to get her there. She pretty much did it on her own. I mean I made the potty easier to get on and bought her underwear, but she pretty much did it on her own. I guess it just clicked for her. School helped of course since they encourage them to use the potty. And the best part is, Julia is moving classes at preschool from the diaper kids to the potty trained kids and it is $10 cheaper a week. Woo Hoo! So that is why my kid rocks!

Thanks for reading eventhough this post is about potty training. Does it get anymore "mommy" than that??

Such a Sucker

I went to the MAC make-up counter today and ended up spending $87. What did I get? A lipstick, lipgloss, lip liner, and 2 eyeshadows! Almost choked when she told me the total. She did make me look pretty cute, so that is why I think I bought it all. I did look like a hooker when I picked Julia up from school since they are used to me in my sweats, no make-up, hair in a pony tail. Hope the hubby likes it though (wink, wink)

Well there is really nothing more exciting going on right now. I had an idea for a post and of course when I get to write it, I forgot what it was. Thanks for reading this one at least :)
