Well the last 48 hours in the Mommy Files household has been a tough one. The Mini Princess has decided that she wants to get some teeth in her mouth. Two at the same time. I am not used to this teething business because Julia did not get teeth till she was 1 year old (crazy huh? I was the same way I guess) and one day I looked and there was a tooth. There was no crying, no shoving everything she could get her hands on into her mouth, spitting up on me 4 times within 10 minutes- none of that. All I have to say for the makers of teething gel- thank you. You saved me from drinking my night away :) Wish me luck and if you have any suggestions to help PLEASE let me know!

Loved This and Had to Share
WHEN GIRLS DRINK TOO MUCH............
1. WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHERE OUR PURSE IS.
2. WE BELIEVE THAT DANCING WITH OUR ARMS OVERHEAD AND WIGGLING
OUR BUTT WHILE YELLING "WOO-HOO!" IS TRULY THE SEXIEST DANCE
MOVE AROUND.
3. WE'VE SUDDENLY DECIDED THAT WE WANT TO KICK SOMEONE'S ASS
AND HONESTLY BELIEVE WE COULD DO IT TOO.
4. IN OUR LAST TRIP TO PEE, WE REALIZE THAT WE NOW LOOK
MORE LIKE A HOMELESS HOOKER THAN THE GODDESS WE WERE
JUST FOUR HOURS AGO
5. WE START CRYING AND TELLING EVERYONE WE SEE THAT WE
LOVE THEM SOOOOO MUCH.
6. WE GET EXTREMELY EXCITED AND JUMP UP AND DOWN EVERY TIME A
NEW SONG PLAY'S BECAUSE "OH MY GOD! I LOVE THIS SONG!"
7. WE'VE FOUND A DEEPER/SPIRITUAL SIDE TO THE GEEK SITTING
NEXT TO US.
8. WE'VE SUDDENLY TAKEN UP SMOKING AND BECOME REALLY GOOD
AT IT.
9. WE YELL AT THE BARTENDER, WHO WE BELIEVE CHEATED US BY
GIVING US JUST LEMONADE, BUT THAT'S JUST BECAUSE WE CAN
NO LONGER TASTE THE GIN.
10. WE THINK WE ARE IN BED, BUT OUR PILLOW FEELS STRANGELY
LIKE THE KITCHEN FLOOR (or the mop?)
11. WE FAIL TO NOTICE THAT THE TOILET LID'S DOWN WHEN WE SIT
ON IT.
12. WE TAKE OUR SHOES OFF BECAUSE WE BELIEVE IT'S THEIR
FAULT THAT WE'RE HAVING PROBLEMS WALKING STRAIGHT.

Kinda Sad
Today Julia starts her first full day at preschool. It is only 2 days a week and both Jon and I agreed that once she stop taking naps she was ready for a full day. I am just kinda sad is all. Makes me feel a little defeated- like I lost the war of motherhood. Shouldn't I be able to handle her all day long? Isn't this what I signed up for when I had children? I just know I will miss her, yet I also know that things can go back to normal around here. I will clean, I will do laundry, I will spend more time with the baby. I swear I will- the magazines will wait till everything is done :) The clock will not move fast enough today because I will need a hug and kiss from my little girl.

True Love
I am total spoiled brat- I admit that. There are just some things that I don't want to do or I will pay someone to do. One of those things is coloring my hair. I go to the salon every 8 weeks, pay for a color and cut, and I have been doing that for 10 years. Today was the day that I changed that. Since going back to blonde, I have to get the hair colored every 6-7 weeks. Sometimes that is not in the budget in this household. So today, I went to Walgreens and bought on my mother's recommendation (better work mom) this:
Old school highlights. You have to pull your hair through a plastic cap. Now I am also very impatient and I want results now, but how about this for true love. The Hubby took 45 minutes to pull strands of my hair through a plastic cap. He also helped me put the dye and made sure I got all the strands. That takes a true man who loves someone very much to do that. Now I just hope that I am not sitting here waiting for orange hair :)

UPDATE: My hair actually looks good. It is really blonde, but I like it like that. Maybe I have found a way to save some money??
UPADTE #2: Here is a picture. It is small and cut off because well the ohters ones you can tell I was kinda naked :)

No Nap Hell
Oh my God- I had no clue that the no nap situation would be so hard. I am dying over here! I thought maybe she might mellow for an hour around her normal nap time, but nope! It is like she makes an effort to be insane. Then when she does get tired she whines and just the thought of that makes me want to pull my hair out. When she whines, I call the hubby and whine, then when he comes home, we both whine, then the baby catches on and she whines. It is a never ending cycle. I do have to say one thing- thank God for Playdo and Barbie. At least that gives me 45 min. of semi-peace, until of course she needs something cut or Barbie's pants on. All I want o do is read my "People" magazine- is that so wrong??

5 Months
The Mini-Princess is 5 months old today and I am actually writing a post on the actual day. Mommy is getting good :) Anyway, I tried to take cute pictures, but Samantha has learned that she doesn't have to lie there anymore while I take them. This girl is ready to crawl! I just know I am going to find something in her mouth like a Polly Pocket shoe or a Lego because she has scooted her way over to Julia's toys. She also has begun to sit up with the support of her arms. I can't wait for that because that means I can put her in the grocery cart instead of lugging around that 50 lb. infant seat.
She has been eating baby food for about 2 weeks now and she loves it. Her little legs kick when she even sees me bring out the spoon. It is just a dinner time thing and let me tell you- makes her sleep till 7 am every morning! Gotta love that! In a month of two she will be demanding steak and baked potatos for dinner. And secretly I always taste what falls on my fingers just to make sure it is okay :)
Well my baby Samantha- Mommy, Daddy, and Sissy love you very much! We are all waiting to see the little lady you are to become. Thanks for making me a better mommy the last 5 months!

You Know When
You know when you are a mom when you are at the gym, with your Ipod on the shuffle songs setting, and "Toot, Toot, chugga, chugga, big red car" by "The Wiggles" comes on. You figure you are just to lazy to change the song or you are secretly singing along with :)

The Mini
What is up with every single store selling mini skirts? I mean I like my skirts above my knees, but I want to be able to bend over in them. I tried so hard last night to find a cute skirt, but every one I looked at you could see "the goods" when I bent over. There is a time and place for that- not at the park with 2 kids :)

It is &^*%^&% official
My worst nightmare has come true and I just knew this day would come and I would be so screwed!! I am about to cry about right now!! Julia has officially stopped taking naps :( Yes, my life is changed forever! It has been a slow process, giving up one or two days of a nap, but yesterday it was the third day in a row and there was no way I was getting her down. I have had friends who have told me the horrors of the No Nap Kid, but I wasn't worried. Julia was still taking these wonderful 2 hours naps, and going to sleep by 8:30 pm. Yesterday by 4 pm I wanted to run far far away. Luckily around 7:45 pm she was done and it was super easy to put her to bed. So I guess I am in the No Nap Kid Club from now on. A membership I don't want to pay for, yet must. Prey for me :)

I am Here with Nothing to Say
I've got nothing. There is nothing happening here. The kids are good, the hubby is good, the house is clean, and I have to go to the grocery store. See, nothing. It is either I tell the truth or make something up :) So, tell me what is up with you instead. Make anything good for dinner I can steal the recipe for and pass it off as my own??

Purse Party, Bras, and Cheesecake
So I got my break last night thanks to my friend Robin and my Hubby coming home a tad bit early. Thank god for that :) So Robin took me to a purse party. For those who don't know what that is it basically a party where this girl sells knock off purses and such. I got a really cute white one because I have never had a white purse before. Then we headed to the best mall in San Diego called Fashion Valley. They have all the good stores, unlike where I live. So we went to Sephora and Nordstrom where I bought my all time favorite bras. After that, we decided that to make the night 10 times better we would go have some cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory. It is amazing how cheesecake can change your frame of mind. I had to bring half of mine home because it was huge! So I got my much needed break. I am now sitting at my computer with the cutest little four year old in her chair next to me. Let's just hope it stays that way today :)

I'm Filing a Complaint
I am trying to fill out my complaint form for the Motherhood Department because I am officially done. When I applied to this program, I was fully aware of the terrible two's, teething, tantrums, doctor visits, etc., but I was not prepared or told that a four year old can have just has much sass and attitude as an teenager. Is there something called the terrible fours? Please let me know if you have found a cure for this condition because I will do anything at this point (hmm...a lock on the her bedroom door sounds nice) I try to not get to this point, but I am defeated and really have no strength to go back into battle. Maybe if I back off for a couple of days it will run it's course?? I am checking the box on this form for need a break- hopefully my desperation will show and they will grant me one??
